Holy Family Sketch

I have gotten many requests to paint the Holy Family. I even got as far as taking photographs and putting together a reference image, but when I realized that I would not have the time to paint it for many months, I decided to take a few quiet evenings to sketch it out. Not usually my medium of choice, it was nonetheless a joy to create. The entire drawing was done with a mechanical pencil in a sketchbook. The gold was added in post.
