Our Lady of Sorrows

I was inspired for this painting during Mass. In my mind’s eye I saw Mary’s face streaked with tears, her veil blowing in the wind. I did not have much experience with digital painting but I decided to try creating the image that had been placed upon my heart. I spent dozens upon dozens of hours working to get it just right. The forgiving nature of this medium allowed me to learn something that was obviously above my skill level, preparing me to one day to paint sacred art more seriously as a professional oil painter.
