Mary stands before us as a radiant sign of what it means to belong entirely to God. In her, we behold what His grace can accomplish in a human heart.

Yet this love was not without cost. The prophet Simeon foretold that a sword would pierce her soul. Deep was her sorrow as she stood united to her Son through His suffering and crucifixion.

So it will be with us. The closer Divine love draws us, the more deeply we feel true sorrow for our sins, the ache of separation, the longing for perfect union.
