I was inspired for this painting during Mass when I was just a teenager. In my mind’s eye I saw Mary’s face streaked with tears, her veil blowing in the wind. I did not have much experience with digital painting but I decided to try creating the image that had been placed upon my heart. I spent many hours working to get it just right. The forgiving nature of that medium allowed me to learn something above my skill level, preparing me to one day to paint sacred art more seriously as a professional oil painter.
