Saint Cecilia is venerated as the patron saint of musicians. Born into a noble Roman family, she devoted her life to God from an early age, taking a vow of virginity. According to tradition, she sang to God in her heart during her wedding ceremony, even as the pagan instruments clamoured about her. That night, when she told her new husband about her faith and her vow, an angel appeared to him, placing a crown of flowers upon Cecilia's head. Her husband converted to Christianity and eventually they were both martyred. Her body was found with her fingers in the shape of one and three for the Holy Trinity. Her faithfulness and steadfast witness—even unto death—won many souls for Christ!
